For a short sequence in the WW1 Uncut episode ‘Trenches” that looked to visualise the build up of troops across the Western Front, we chose the imagery of a board game.
We zoomed in close on the board, and saw two soldiers approach either side of the Germany/France border.
As we zoomed back out of the board, we saw more and more troops appear until there was barely any space left available on the Western Front.
